Portsmouth PPS

We are an independent service, managed by the national charity Mencap on behalf of the Local Authority, to support the parents of pupils with special educational needs who are resident within the city.
This includes concerns regarding Admissions, Exclusions and Bullying. We can also support you if you are not happy with a decision about your child’s special educational needs, including getting their needs assessed.
We are able to offer direct support at meetings, provide accurate and impartial information or advice on the national special educational needs process, and the local procedures and provision options to meet this.
Our aim is to help the parents of Portsmouth to be able to make right choices regarding their child’s education by having the appropriate information to do so.
